Student Programs and Support Svs
~~~~~Please note: Updates and changes have been made!~~~~~~~
The mission of the Prevention Education Department is to encourage local school districts to provide an umbrella of comprehensive health education to all students with a youth development focus that respects, honors and supports young people. Comprehensive programs should include health curriculum, information on tobacco, alcohol and other drugs, violence and hate-motivated behavior, sex education, school safety (physical and emotional), guest speakers, counseling, student assistance programs, mentoring, and recreational opportunities. These programs may vary from district to district depending on funding and the needs of local youth and families.
